Married in 2006 with 4 children and Pastoring since 2009 our pastor leads us to a place of enjoying God, life and family. With a desire to build families and people of purpose, he teaches, inspires and encourages us to find fulfillment in Christ Jesus and experience life and life more abundantly. With a warm welcoming and many times humorous teaching approach he makes plain the promises of God and the grace of God making one alive and free in knowing who we are in Christ Jesus.
Bishop C.A. Griffin, III, was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the eldest of four sons to Clarence Griffin Jr. and Beverly Griffin. Baptized at a young age, he was deeply influenced by his preacher father. At age 7, he began his ministry journey as a junior deacon where he served the late Pastor Dave Botts of God’s Holy Baptist Church.
Traveling with his father preaching in nursing homes, he learned to care for the less fortunate.
Bishop Griffin was licensed on May 18, 1998, by Robert E. Gardner of New Beginnings Church in Missouri City, TX. His first sermon, preached on April 19, 1998, was titled “What Faith Really Is.” In 2000, he relocated to Rockford, IL, where he served as an Elder in Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of John F Senter. There he also served in radio ministry and as a minister in Denice Senter Ministries. He would become ordained in August 2007 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church by Bishop John F. Senter.
After a divine call to show others how to live the promise, he founded Living the Promise Family Life Christian Center in January 2009 with the mission of “building families and people of purpose.” His dynamic ministry expanded to include radio and television programming, and he traveled internationally for impactful missions to Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and India. He has served as Vice President of the International Pastoral Alliance, Bishop in DSM Global Networking, and currently Bishop of Mission for the PURE Empowerment Network. Guided by the Great Commission, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,” his work embodies the essence of “People, Purpose and Promise.”
On the personal front, Bishop Griffin met and married Andrastea Griffin of Rockford, IL in 2006. Following marriage, they would relocate back to Houston where the Lord’s church would be formed. They have four wonderful children—LaNiesha, Azariah, Josiah, and Atalia—who all serve in the Lord’s church in various capacities.
Bishop Griffin is renowned for his strong family values, exemplary leadership, and selfless service carried out with integrity and humility. Much of his work is in places of new beginnings, much like the name of the church where he preached his first sermon, New Beginning.
The founded church Living the Promise Family Life Christian Center was renamed The Message Church in 2019 where he continues to serve.
